In our view, the greatest need of our country is freedom. When you are not free, you are not the true owner of anything you have. Unfortunately, you cannot even be the owner of your own genius. Everything about you—even your very self and your mind—belongs to someone else.

And With This Acceptance, Seqular Was Born.

We heard the calls for establishing a domestic and national social media platform. We cared. We researched.

In recent years, we saw many initiatives in the domestic and national social media field. They were all projects created by local engineers, fueled by millions of dollars, but they collapsed because no one embraced them.

In fact, all the calls were made to local engineers—not to us.

We looked and thought, “If they can’t do it… then let us do it.”

So no one gave us this noble mission. We voluntarily took on the responsibility of building a domestic and national social media platform.

Of course, in our own style and with our own interpretation.

All of Seqular’s infrastructure is located in Turkey. We belong to this land. All our mail servers and all our SMTP relay servers are in Turkey. We live within the borders of our country. We will always remain here!!

Everything begins in thought, and then we turn it into matter. Freedom also begins this way. We use the unstoppable power of freedom in software. We see this as the first and most important step to changing and beautifying our environment and the world.

We have tasted the beauty of freedom in software. We intend to spread it to every field.

We aim to fix and beautify social media—corrupted by corporate commercial concerns—first for ourselves, then for everyone. Not only for our country, but for all humanity, together with our country.

Our goal is to make people’s work more beautiful and easier.

We code so that you might gain enough time to enjoy an extra cup of coffee, or an extra five minutes with your daughter. That is our job description.

Every line of code we write finds meaning only in this way. Otherwise, it is just an empty pursuit.

The Seqular Community consists of a highly diverse group: professionals from the software industry, well-known figures, and curious newcomers who are devoted to open source and free software. All of Seqular’s systems are built entirely by volunteers, by combining fully open-source projects.
